Tour Details

Price: US$2,750.00 per person (taxes not included).

Includes: Airport pick-up/drop-off, all internal transportation, meals as indicated, lodging, tours as outlined on the itinerary, and expert local guide throughout.

Not Included: International airfare, extras in hotels (laundry, telephone calls, room service).

Skill level: Most of the activities can be considered easy, except for the hiking day which is moderate.

Small groups: 4 Min. – 7 Max. (larger family groups are accepted).

ROUTE & ACCOMMODATIONS

Day 1: Panama City

Upon arrival at the Tocumen International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel in Panama City.

Lodging: Hotel in Panama City (Aloft or similar).

Day 2: The Panama Canal

We start the activities with a Panama Canal nature and wildlife boat tour. We will go exploring through channels in the rainforest made out of small islands to appreciate an incredible diversity of exotic tropical plants and trees, birds, and other animals in their natural environment.

We will also pass right next to huge cargo ships transiting the Canal, allowing you to take pictures from a privileged perspective. After the boat ride, we will go to one of the trails in the área for a nice walk to round up the experience.

After lunch in a Panamanian-style restaurant, in the afternoon, we will visit the Panama Canal’s Miraflores Locks, where you will see the canal in action and learn about the history and operations of this engineering marvel of the world.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
Lodging: Hotel in Panama City.

Day 3: Pacific Coast Beaches, Countryside & Santa Fe National Park

Today we will cross the bridge over the Panama Canal and drive west on the Pan-American Highway exploring the Panamanian countryside. We will go to the beach for lunch, and make some stops to try local snacks.

Late afternoon we reach the mountains and the Santa Fe National Park, check-in at the hotel, have dinner, and go for a walk in the forest in search of nocturnal frogs.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Lodging: Hotel in Santa Fe.

Day 4: Hiking to Hidden Waterfalls

If you are into hiking in the mountains and visiting hidden waterfalls in the rainforest, this day will exceed your wildest expectations. We will visit a small town high up in the mountains and explore the nearby attractions.

You will experience life in an off-the-beaten-path location, and you will have the opportunity to hike through the lush jungle until reaching amazing waterfalls, most of them with a conveniently located natural stone pool at the bottom inviting everyone for a swim.

On the trails, you will also have the opportunity to see tropical plants, trees, and spot colorful butterflies.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Lodging: Coffee Mountain Hotel.

Day 5: Las Lajas Beach & Boquete

On this day we take things slow in order for everyone to recharge their batteries. On our way to Boquete, we will visit Las Lajas Beach, where you can enjoy its warm waters, walk on the unpopulated beach (many miles of empty beach), eat fresh fish for lunch, and try a cold Panama beer.

Late afternoon we will arrive in the beautiful Boquete valley, located at 3,500 feet above sea level and with a pleasant temperature of 21’C (70’F) all year round. The cultivation of flowers, coffee, strawberries, and other fruits is the main activity for the local community.

There will be time to go for a walk and have dinner at one of the excellent restaurants in this lovely town.

Lodging: Isla Verde Hotel.

Day 6: Boquete

Boquete is a very beautiful place and it offers a wide variety of things to do. For this day you’ll get to choose one of the popular tours listed below. It is also possible to add extra nights in Boquete if you feel like staying a little longer.

Bird Watching.

Cloud Forest hiking.
Coffee farm tour.
White water river rafting.

Day 7: Boquete & Bocas del Toro

Today you also get to choose another of the great above-listed tours. After your tour, we will drive you to Bocas del Toro. This is a gorgeous drive through the mountains with very nice views.

Once on the shores of Bocas del Toro, you will board the boat that will take you to the main island. Bocas del Toro is considered a diamond in the ruff. Is an archipelago of islands located on the western Caribbean Coast of Panama. With pristine white sand beaches, clear Caribbean water, thriving rainforests, and amazing coral reefs, Bocas del Toro is a prime destination.

People from all over the world are drawn to the beauty and tranquility that these islands have to offer.

Meals: Breakfast and snacks.
Lodging: Bocas del Toro Hotel.

Day 8: Bocas del Toro

This is a special day, where you will have a great tour of sightseeing on a boat, with our expert guide that is the one in charge of driving around the scientists in the area so he always has surprises and new places to go.

There will be great snorkeling opportunities. After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Panama City.

Lodging: Aloft Hotel

Day 9: Departure

After an amazing trip, you will be transferred to the International Airport for your return flight home.

					Exceptional Waterfalls Hike  - Briant was our guide and he was phenomenal. We toured the waterfalls and were hosted for lunch by the most wonderful organic farming family. I am a 66 year old... Read more... overweight woman and while I do NOT recommend this hike for people with physical limitations or the faint of heart it was an experience I will always treasure. Briant was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. When we got to the first waterfall and were able to swim in the pool it was the most reinvigorating experience. Did I learn to push my limits? Yes. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!

My family of niece, nephew and 3 children loved every minute and negotiated the trail much more easily than me.

Highly recommend for a half day trip for anybody looking to explore the natural offerings of Panama!

					11 days with 5 persons are all went smoothly - Great 11 day trip for the family

Started with Briant in Panama city

We have several day trips to various surrounding areas 

Then 4 days in Bocas del toro... Read more... with Sabatian we save a lot of wild like like dolphin sloth monkeys and frogs

					Affordable custom private tour  - We had a customized tour for 6ppl which included 3 couples. It included pick up and drop off at our hotel, monkey island, rainforest walk, old town, lunch  included... Read more... and causeway area near Panama sign. Isaac was our tour guide and he was kind, knowledgeable, and funny. We had a large van which was very comfortable. We learned a lot about the country and all our questions were answered. Before coming to Panama we were in consistent communication via email with Esther. I spoke to a staff member via WhatsApp and asked questions about carnival time in Panama which was helpful. I would recommend this tour group to anyone and felt that it was financially a good option considering we did our own itinerary with what we like and was private and intimate. Thank you all good job!

					Amazing Waterfall Hike  - We did the waterfall hike and it was superb. Don't take the description too lightly - it is not a walk in the park!! However, the guides (Alex and Alex!)... Read more... were EXTREMELY helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. This is totally worth it in terms of adventuring in Panama. Finally, the tour company headed by Esther is super easy to communicate with. It was very easy to arrange everything via email before we went to Panama, the communication with her was prompt and efficient, and everything just went to plan. This is the sort of professional tour company you want handling your activities in Panama.

					XPLORA TOURS are AMAZING!!!  - Our Bayano Cave tour was INCREDIBLE! Alex, our guide and who I felt became our friend, and with a second personal guide Manuel, who shared his land and culture with... Read more... us, were AMAZING!!! From bats to stalagmites and a gorgeous swim at a natural pool at the end, this tour is definitely for those who want a piece of culture and an incredible experience that you will forever remember!  Alex is a learned and educated biologist and his knowledge among birds, animals and the cave and basically everything is humbling and beyond respectable. We felt very lucky to have him be our guide. He knows the cave like his own home and made sure each and every way that it was safe for us during the trek. We have two adventurous children ages 6 and 9 and although we had to swim and climb at parts that were challenging and invigorating; Alex and Manuel were amazing at helping them and us have the most fabulous and extreme adventure! We saw howler monkeys on the way and then other howler monkeys happened to be above the cave as well! The lunch was fresh Tilapia cooked local style with plantains that was cooked by Manuel’s wife and the Tilapia was caught by Manuel. We felt very special to be a guest on Manuel’s porch to see a glimpse into his special life. There is a boat ride, there and back and again, which added to our amazing experience. We also took the train ride back, which the kids loved. This was a unique and local experience where we got to see more of Panama with Alex. Alex was such an incredible and learned guide. We felt safe and very very lucky to have him! Esther was very helpful in organizing this tour as well as we had to change the dates last minute and we very much appreciated her flexibility and Alex’s flexibility. We wish we were staying in Panama longer and would have been able to take more tours with Xplora Panama Tours! We can’t say enough how wonderful this experience truly was.
